Jackson Hole

Family of 4 traveling to Jackson Hole for a week. Looking for 'must do' activities with two teenage boys (17 and 19). We have never been to this area before.

Looking forward to seeing the Tetons and lower part of Yellowstone. Hiking is a must.

Enjoy trying out different restaurants for evening outings.

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I don't know what kind of food you're looking for but we enjoyed our dinner at Gather last fall and also Persephone Bakery for breakfast/lunch. The people that own Persephone are opening another location this year. Inside GTNP Signal Mountain Lodge has decent food and Dornans is good for pizza.

Just FYI it's over an hour from Jackson to the south entrance of Yellowstone and from there it takes a while longer to get to places like Old Faithful, etc. Summer traffic can be busy too which is when I'm assuming you're going. Add to that delays due to summer road construction in GTNP https://www.nps.gov/grte/planyourvisit/roads.htm
If you're staying in Teton Village, you can take Moose-Wilson Rd but part of that is unpaved and slow going and that road is subject to periodic work closure as well https://www.nps.gov/grte/learn/news/...-abatement.htm

Look into ranger programs offered by the park, rafting on the Snake River and summer activities at the ski area https://www.jacksonhole.com/grand-adventure-park.html

Buy or rent bear spray for your hikes, familiarize yourself with how to use it and have it readily available (not in a backpack) https://www.nps.gov/grte/planyourvisit/bearsafety.htm

Check out the website for each park--www.nps.gov They will have a news letter with all of the ranger talks, suggested hikes, places to eat in the parks, etc. This is essential info.

White water rafting with Barker Ewing is a must. Search this forum for trip reports and other queries regarding Jackson, etc. If you click on my user name you will see trip reports for yellowstone and Jackson/GTNP.

If you are meat eaters, the boys in particular might enjoy The Gun Barrel restaurant. Very "Wild West Cowboy." The Gun Barrel | Jackson Hole's Legendary Dining Experience

Unfortunately Jedediahs has been closed for a few years.
