Jack London Lodge?

This is a separate post, because I forgot the first time - better not to complicate anyway.

Has anyone stayed at the Jack London Lodge near Sonoma? Looks nice, but can't find reviews anywhere.

Hi MommaFrog, have you gone onto their website? It is: www.jacklondonlodge.com.
It is in GlennEllen. Have fun, you will be in a wonderful area.

Yes! Loved it! A friend and I were looking for a reasonable place to stay in the area before a conference in the city. It's a simple small motor 2 story motor lodge with beautiful grounds (the flowers were breathtaking) and nice, big, clean rooms. At the rate we were paying I was a bit concerned - but we just loved the place and what the owners have done with what would have been a non-descript small motel elsewhere! We had breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the river and came back for dinner there one night because we were tired. It was one of our favorite meals in Napa/Sonoma (didn't expect that). Walked across the street to the market to buy picnic stuff. Beautiful little town.

Had not planned to do the Jack London State Park but spent hours there on a short hike (Okay, more of a stroll) and a quick look at the JL memorabilia.

LoveItaly, this was part of the trip that ended with the mani-pedi at the Monaco :-)

It is a very attractive place, in the small town of Glen-Ellen. Though did not stay there, it looked lovely from the exterior- and the Benziger winery is nearby, which is a delight to both taste and tour.

Thanks for the input - anyone else out there?

We have reservations for two nights in July - the staff seemed quite friendly and very accomodating. Maybe it's a "best kept secret"!

A review at www.tripadvisor.com is enthusiastic. Enjoy.
