BeachBoi and Doc...Dow 10,000 is my rave too and it held up today! I was so happy to see it close over 10,000 yesterday I had to hold myself back from posting it here! Our best performing stock this year is up 217% YTD. Yippee

My rant is...it is still down 90% from where we bought it! LOL If you can't laugh, where the heck would you be?!

buckeyemom: The cell phone people at the gym, yeah, that's a crack-up. One time I was sweating off a hangover in a sauna and some yutz was chatting away on HIS cell in there. Or on the treadmill or elliptical trainer. What could be SO important that it can't go to voice mail? Or wait?

I do have to admit I schlepp my cell with me when I shop, but I turn the ringer off and keep my conversation short (I don't like chatting on the phone as a rule). They tend to be a bit dull, anyway....

Careful on those highways, OK? I shudder thinking about random snipers (and this from someone who lives in the LA metro area, which out-of-towners think is a target range for road ragers!)....

Cindyrella, Happy Birthday! Go wild tonight!!

You all are tooooooo funny!
Rant: Back to the newspaper...there are more ads than news this time of year and I would tip my carrier $50 for either removing them or pre-sorting them so I can stash them in the re-cycle as I pass back through the garage
before I go upstairs!

Minor Rave: At least the mailbox is not
quite as full of catalogs.

Major Rave: I am going to Calistoga with my hubby Monday for a pre-Christmas spa! Massage! Foot reflexlogy!Facial! Jacuzzi ! Warm pools ! Dinner at the All Seasons !

No malls for me-
and a Merry Christmas to all of thee!

Rant: There's trans fat on the raisins in my "2 scoops of raisins" in my Kelloggs Raisin Bran! And, trans fat in the icing in my Kraft Oreos!!

Rave: The multi-billion dollar lawsuits against Kelloggs and Kraft for not disclosing that they have been clogging your arteries w/ trans fats for over 30 years.

Here's some more other than the cell phone yakkers at the gym, while driving, etc.

What is it with the word "like"?. Since when did it replace a bunch of words to make people sound either ignorant or worse, idiotic? I keep hearing even from men over 30, "So he was like I'm not doing this and she was like oh yes you are...." I realize it's a hard habit to break once you start doing it and half the time we don't even notice it, but when I actually pay attention, I can feel the person's IQ dropping with every use of the word "like"!

Hangover cure for rj-Gatorade/advil and a hamburger.

Agree about Tristan and what's his name. I heard the helicopters were flying like gnats above their wedding site. Who could get married with all that noise? ABC spent a bundle on that wedding, you would have thought they would have tented it or had it in a top secret location or something.

Buckeyemom - sure hope they catch up with that sniper out there. We had one picking people off with such accuracy it scared the bejeez out of most of us in the DC area. The trial for the younger one is going on now - sure hope he doesn't get off because of his age.

As far as the cell phones used WHILE driving and the ill-mannered drivers on our roads maybe it's time we all looked at these complaints and started doing something about them. It's got to start someplace and being considerate is a nice trait for a Friday afternoon.

My rant is the media scare on getting flu shot; 3 months ago there was plenty (over 20 some million?) doses available, now there is a shortage? Plus the headline at major newspapers is National childrens toll at 20???!!! Why do I believe it is a ploy to SELL all of these doses??!! And the audacity of newspapers to scare people with children this way?? This is absolutely irresponsible insanity.

Sorry to dissappoint Aahnold but my democratic family has no bumper stickers on our luxury cars!

Speaking of Arnold, He is sure off to a terrible start. I hope he does well for the state of Cali....

My rave: Off to Hawaii tomorrow! Cheers! Have fun fodorites!

RANT:
I guess I have to chime in here. After a day of driving around in Christmas traffic, being cut off more than once by people talking on cell phones and walking across the street without looking to see if a car was coming. Strange, I never have phone calls that keep me THAT oblivious! I guess I don't talk to the right people~

I am so sick of turning on the television and seeing someones arm getting a needle stuck in it. If it isn't an adult, it is a poor little baby

RAVE:
Friends who do things that are sooo nice and expressly for the pleasure of being nice - not for the thanks or for the recognition! I think that is lacking these days, People doing something NICE just for the hell of it~

You too? I am not that fond of the sight of a needle to begin with, a certain member of my family will faint at the sight, so turning on the television has become a scarey prospect, what is the first thing I will see???

Not to needle you, Scarlett, but people with cell phones who talk with the volume of their voice up, so that everyone of us in a doctor's waiting room could hear the innane conversation.

Very good Mimi! I know what you mean, they have signs at my dermatologist for the patients to leave the waiting room if they must talk on the mobile. Why do people need a sign to know this??

Kal, I think I could stand to see a tattoo as long as there is no blood dripping ... on second thought, never mind, just show me the finished tattoo

Rant: I had to go to northern VA on business this week. On the way down, my train was delayed 3 hours, then I had to rent a car and learn to drive again. I drove about 400 miles around the area (it's all a part of my job) in terrible traffic. On the local roads, I discovered, there's a traffic signal or 4-way stop every block. AAARRGGHH!

Rave: Taking Amtrak home...the ride was less than three hours and the bartender gave me as much free beer as I wanted. Coming home to my car-free, pleasant universe...

Rant: the media. all of them. especially the big ones, ABC, CNN, etc, that provide no useful information but instead scare people with misleading and incorrect stories.

rave: all those who dedicate their time and efforts to charities.

LOL that made it for my evening Scarlett - I cannot imagine why she came to your mind at this time of night but I'm still giggling.

Maybe by next year she'll be working at Wal-Mart....

Enjoy the weekend - and please, please pray that it doesn't snow!
