Itinerary/ timing Sedona-GC- esp Page

2 kids age 7&10. 2 nights in Sedona at L'auberge. Pink jeep broken arrow. Other kid fun activities in June heat? The GC south rim 2 nights. recommended hikes / activities with kids? The to page. Upper and/ or lower antelope tour and what time? Can I do a tour on same day as my drive from GC or is there a lot to see/ do on the way? On my only full day in page I booked a morning float tour. Can book a late afternoon antelope tour for after. Or an early morning one on my last day before heading to Scottsdale. I know 10:30 is best time for upper but I don't see how I can do that one bc of the float tour. R eommendations please!?!?

we will be there in June. i would just do antelope canyon in the afternoon if that is only time you have. I think it will be amazing at any point we were thinking of doing a boat trip on lake Powell but a float tour sounds like fun. who do you book that from?

There are designated concessionaires for tours at Glen Canyon National Recreational Area for both the Colorado Float Trip and the Rainbow Bridge Boat tour. Both are excellent tours and you can't go wrong with either.

For some reason the float trip link isn't working today. Here is where all the concessionaires for Glen Canyon National Recreational Area can be found: http://www.nps.gov/glca/learn/manage...ssionaires.htm

Best time to do upper antelope slots canyon is when the sun is directly above to shine the light into the slots. If you can't make it between noonish and 1 then anytime you can make it is going to work.

As long as it is bright and sunny (most likely) and not cloudy/rainy (not likely) Antelope canyon will be fine.

That said, two antelope canyon tours would have been one too many for my kid at those ages. Would have much preferred to be in the pool at the hotel.

We did the half day boat trip down the river and found it quite interesting. It's very calm, so I don't know if the kids would be excited by it.

Take the kids to Slide Rock State Park near Sedona.

Sign them up for the Jr. Ranger program at the Grand Canyon. The rim trail is easy. If you want to hike down into the canyon, start early. The Bright Angel trail has some shade and water at the 1.5 and 3 mile mark, you probably would not want to go any further than that point with 2 young kids. 1.5 miles is likely enough.

Don't worry about the timing of Antelope Canyon so much, just do it when it fits your schedule. Mid-day is perfect for photography but if you are just going as a tourist it doesn't matter so much.
