Itinerary in San Francisco
We're four seniors who don't want to drive, so we plan on spending the first 3 days in San Fran, then take a Grayline tour to Monterey one day and Napa on another day. Our last full day will be in San Francisco. Does this sound ok? We'll be going on 7/27 and leaving 8/2, so I can still make changes.

Sounds to me like you will have plenty of time in SF. You might even want to spend one day in Muir Woods, in Marin Co. Grayline probably has tours there too. It is quite beautiful this time of year.

Sounds nice and relaxed to me. No driving in SF is the way to go.

Just got back from S.F. Great city. 4 days in S.F. is sufficient. Let me know your interests and I can give you some suggestions.
Muir Woods should be included on your trip to Napa or maybe on a Sausalito/Muir Woods combined trip. |
For your 3 days in SF get a MUNI map with all bus routes on it, not the usual tourist map. Or you can print it off the internet, better on color printer. Muni can take you practically everywhere. And don't miss Sausalito, take Golden Gate transit bus one way (over the bridge), ferry the other.

Thanks for the suggestions, especially the Muni map...I forgot about that! Muir Woods might be a nice trip for the day before we leave. Now, I can stop planning.
