mycuppa, just FYI, there is a good thread (titled, "what do you pakc that makes your trip easier and/or more fun") on this topic in the "Other Topics" forum on this board. I posted my list on that thread. To get there, go to the "change forum" box on the left side of screen and drop down to find Other Topics. I topped that thread for you in case you are interested in looking at it, so it will be right there at the top of the list when you get there.

Up-to-date driver's license [and don't get stuck doing all the driving - make sure your travel partner's license is current, too. :)]

Comfy walking shoes are a must.

First Class Tickets but if those are unavailable, I like my old trusty pashmina instead of the airline blankets and I guess I think the way Kal thinks....The Yankee ( he makes Life easier)

Ditto what Scarlett said.

(And Scarlett, I hope your DH sees your nice message!)

That's why Scarlett and I have been married to our respective spouses for such a long time....don't wanna break in a new one. ;)
