Italian Restaurants in Atlanta
I'm looking for the best Italian restaurant in Atlanta. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
|
Our favorites: Nino's, Cheshire Bridge Road, loosely "midtown." Classical southern italien with the Mona Lisa. Great ambience. An Atlanta institution.
La Grotta, Peachtree Road, in the heart of Buckhead. High end, neopolitan.... Never disappoints. |
We love Antica Posta - truly Tuscan - in Buckhead, Ciao Bella, also in Buckhead, and Veni Vidi Vici in Midtown.
|
I like VeniVidiVici too, There was a restaurant not far from the Fox, Baranoda, that was quite good also.

Across the board best Italian in Atlanta is La Grotta. A bit spendy, a bit fancy in an old-fashioned way.
Nino's very old school. More expensive than you'd guess from the run-down digs. Veni Vidi Vici was started by Marcella Hazan many years ago, but is now part of the Buckhead Life group of upmarket restaurants. One of the better in that group, but not top tier Italian. Baraonda and Fritti both Italian-owned thin crust pizza places. Fine, but not quite as good, actually, as a place called Osteria 832 (which also does pasta). Also very good for pasta is Figo. Fritti has a sister restaurant called Sotto Sotto, same owners, more upscale and a bit dressier. La Tavola is generally quite good, though I've not been in a while. I've never been to Antica Posta so can't comment. |
I went to Antica Posta this past weekend and was not impressed.
My personal favs are La grotta, Ciao Bella and La Tavola. Enjoy |
