Italian kid friend restaurants in NYC and stroller in Intrepid?

Hi I'm planning a day trip to NYC with my husband and our three sons. My youngest son is 2 1/2 so I'm looking for a kid friendly but nice italian restaurant in NYC, preferably by Hell's Kitchen or Theatre Distrist/Broadway. Also, I'm not sure if I should bring my son in a stroller for the Intrepid or hold him by hand. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks.

I tried making reservations with Carmines and Trecolore restaurants and they are all booked.

I wold look at the Intrepid website for info about the stroller. I haven't been since it was renovated - but there used to be steep narrow stairways - although there may be ways to get around them.

As for a stroller in a restaurant - I think you need to look at neighborhood places for that - check out 9th ave.

nytraveler is right, there are several Italian restaurants up and down 9th Avenue - just take a walk and see what looks good to you. Many are kid-friendly like Amarone, L'Allegria, Pietrasanta, Cara Mia. I'm from the neighborhood, and my kids frequent these places without a problem - but I am strict with them and make sure they stay seated at the table and use their manners (inside voices). We never have a problem. The waitstaff treats them like little adults. And I would take the stroller to the Intrepid, just for the convenience. The walk from 9th to 12th Ave where the Intrepid is are long blocks (and can get a bit dicey from 10th until you get to the Intrepid. I think it helps to have it on hand.

We were just at the Intrepid with our 8yo DD so I wasn't paying attention to stroller accessibility; however, we did go down some very steep stairs several times.

I do recall seeing some strollers on the main deck and there is an elevator to go between decks.

Il Melograno is probably the closest Italian to the Intrepid.
