Isle of Palms or Wild Dunes

What is the difference in these two places? I've stayed in Wild Dunes and really liked it. Is IofP further away? Secluded? What?

Wild Dunes is a resort that is located on Isle of Palms. If you've been to Wild Dunes, you have been on the Isle of Palms.

Thank you for clearing that up. I thought that was the case sense I remembered Palm street or whatever it is.

As I understand it, for the quality of the beach, they may as well be 2 different places. From what I've heard, the east end of the island (the Wild Dunes side) is experiencing severe erosion while the rest of the island is OK. True?

We vacationed in Wild Dunes last month July 14-21, 2007. The northern part of Wild Dunes is experiencing severe beach erosion. We only had beach access for a few hours around each low tide. The whole area is covered with 50-gallon sandbags to try to protect the properties. Condos affected are Ocean Club, Seascape, Port-o-Call, Tidewater, and Summer House. Be careful renting here if beach access is important to you. Some of the pictures shown on-line are mild compared to seeing it in person.
