Has anyone stayed at the Sea Cabins? Is this the closest I can get to the beach? There is just me, so I am looking for a small place. I just want to read and swim and eat crabs and drink beer!

Sea Cabins are not super-luxurious, but they are nice (or were...its been quite a few years since I stayed there). THey are completely ocean-front...you won't get any closer. Sounds like a perfect vacation to me (if you swapped the beer for wine!)

I live in Charleston and you cannot get any closer to the beach, as Litespeed Chick pointed out. Not super-luxurious, but probably perfect for your vacation plan.
