island hopping

Is there a ferry that goes from Waikiki to Maui? If so, does anyone know approximately how much it costs, and how long the trip is? I am going in a couple of weeks and am having trouble finding info on this. Thanks so much!

There is no ferry between Oahu and Maui. The only way to get from one island to another (unless you own a boat) is to take an interisland flight. You can contact a travel agent when you get here or buy directly from the airline "interisland coupons." They are 58-65 dollars each way. This is cheaper than buying an actual ticket in advance which will run about $200. A travel agent or airline can sell you the coupons and reserve a seat for you. There are multiple flights each day between Maui and Oahu on either Aloha or Hawaiian. The total flight time is about 20 minutes.

Inter island flights are like buses on the mainland, miss one and there will be another along on 20 minutes.

Just an FYI that if you are a AAA member you can save 25% on inter-island flights on Aloha airlines. It saved us over $100 for 4 people.
