Been a while, but I thought I should post an update. We ended up staying at P&P in a 1BR with a queen and a twin in the building up on stilts. Even though we weren't "beachfront" we were up in the trees and had a great view out over the other cottages to the water. The place was as clean as can be in Florida and we loved the staff. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
The one thing I didn't love about Islamorada was there wasn't really anywhere to go for a long walk. No long beaches without driving. And walking on the highway just doesn't cut it. It's great for a few days, but after a while I was getting nudgey.
