Is the Bidding for Travel site down?

Have tried for two days now to get on biddingfortravel.com with no luck. Does anyone know what's up?

Trav Jan 17th, 2005 04:36 PM

Just gave it a test. No problem.

lcuy Jan 17th, 2005 05:10 PM

just spent half an hour there...no problems

iceeu2 Jan 17th, 2005 05:22 PM

I got thru just fine just now.

Scarlett Jan 17th, 2005 05:24 PM

LOL, no it is working just fine. I almost took a package to Las Vegas in Feb! I am sorry I looked :D

Jayne1973 Jan 17th, 2005 06:42 PM

That's weird. I get messages that say either the page cannot be displayed (Interenet Explorer) or that the connection was refused (Netscape.)

Budman Jan 17th, 2005 06:46 PM

That's funny. I just got on the site. ((b))

AJPeabody Jan 17th, 2005 07:31 PM

Yesterday I saw a post on BFT that some ISP's were blocking it erroneously as a spam or scam site, possibly due to their ezboard host site. They said they rere working to fix it.

Jayne1973 Jan 18th, 2005 08:01 AM

That must be the problem, because it does say something about ezboard when it is trying to connect to the biddingfortravel.com site. Guess I will just be patient. Thanks for all the responses.

Jayne1973 Jan 18th, 2005 01:38 PM

While I am being patient...does anyone have an email address for bidding for travel? I want ask them what's going on.

Don Jan 18th, 2005 02:08 PM

Jayne,

Instead of trying to access it via

http://www.biddingfortravel.com

try using this URL:

http://p070.ezboard.com/bpricelineandexpediabidding

The latter URL is the one that shows up in the Address box when I access it via the former URL. Don't know if that will help, but it's worth a try.

Hope this helps...

Jayne, it most likely has nothing to do with biddingfortravel.com. Try contacting your internet service provider and asking them why you are unable to reach this site with apparently others can (I know I can).

Jayne: I agree with Andrew. I've had no problem getting onto the site.

Jayne1973 Jan 20th, 2005 07:44 PM

Just so you will know if anyone else has this problem -- it was my firewall blocking the redirect to ezboard, as AJPeabody suggested. We are able to fix it and now I am back on the site.
Thanks again!

I'm having the same problem. It started a couple of weeks ago. How did you fix it?

Jayne1973 Feb 10th, 2005 05:15 AM

We disabled the "Filter Internet NAT Redirection" option. I'm no computer expert, but hubby is and that's what he said he did. Hope you figure it out!
