Is something wrong with the website AGAIN?

I can't open a forum... a thread... the window to post. Anybody else?

MarionCK Jul 5th, 2005 02:44 PM

I'm having the same problem, but did manage to get this open.

Now, we'll see when and if it shows up.

Frustrating isn't it ;-)

Same problems here, for the last hour or two. Clicking on a thread two or three times seems to do it. Or refreshing two or three times. These are the same problems I had last week. Hope they get the bugs worked out!

FainaAgain Jul 5th, 2005 03:01 PM

Thank you guys, I don't feel lonely any longer :)

(and I don't want to think how long it took to get here!)

suze Jul 5th, 2005 03:03 PM

Faina, you are not alone!

Patrick Jul 5th, 2005 03:06 PM

Same here. Now I've resorted to closing out of Fodors all together, reopening Internet Explorer and reopening Fodors. Each time I do that it works perfectly for about 10 minutes before bogging down again.

HyacinthBucket Jul 5th, 2005 03:08 PM

What problems? Oh dear, I am feeling lonely should I be the only one not having problems. Question pour vous: how did everyone post the above? HB

LoveItaly Jul 5th, 2005 03:08 PM

Faina and everyone else, I have had the same problem. I am typing fast as I think Fodor's will be a problem again in just a couple of minutes.

seetheworld Jul 5th, 2005 03:11 PM

Yup! The entire "Europe" board is gone -- and yet HB made her/his way to the US -- imagine that :D

bluestar Jul 5th, 2005 03:15 PM

Yes. This website has been very screwy/wacko/infuriating for most of the day. These things do happen --but hope the tech team clear the sources of the glitches soon.

It would be nice if a website as large as this had a status page to alert visitors of ongoing problems. Sometimes I think a virus or browser hijacker on my end is causing the problem...just performed an intensive sweep of my hard disk to find no problems, then see this thread.

cmcfong Jul 5th, 2005 05:42 PM

Had the problem for about two hours, Faina, but it is working correctly now.

OneWanderingJew Jul 5th, 2005 06:12 PM

Same thing was happening to me before dinner, about 3 hrs ago but this opened, so...

FainaAgain Jul 5th, 2005 08:16 PM

Even my slow home computer works so much better now! Let's assume the website been fixed.

Mrs Bucket, to answer your question: perseverance ;)

Peteralan Jul 5th, 2005 08:56 PM

Same problem here but I did the same thing as Patrick and it worked. Hyacinth make sure Elizabeth doesn't come anywhere near your computer with her coffee!

tuckerdc Jul 6th, 2005 01:08 PM

You know, I had to spend my entire scholastic career standing in the back (cuz I was tall) and MOUTHING the words (cuz I sounded so bad). Apparently, that word has gotten thru to the Fodors powers, cuz the ONLY thread that I have not been able to open, for days now, is the one about "favorite road music."

Maybe if I promise not to sing along.....?

JCE Jul 6th, 2005 01:13 PM

Bucket, you kill me.;-)

Keep with the sarcasm and remind all these folks every chance you get that there is life beyond this site. (well, maybe for some of us)

FainaAgain Jul 6th, 2005 02:04 PM

Today the site works. It means I don't ;)

likeswords Jul 6th, 2005 02:10 PM

Yes, today it works (after a few tries). I will now try to contact the host to make sure they are aware of the problem (when I tried a few minutes ago my internet connection crashed, as it usually does when I attempt this). Courage, all! Reason will prevail.

cigalechanta Jul 6th, 2005 02:19 PM

Hyacinth, I also had no problem today but the rain here is coming down in buckets(excuse the expression :)
Mrs Slocum, here.
