Is Poipu Kai same as Regency Condos?
Aloha Fodorites!
We are just 2 weeks away from our first ever trip to Hawaii. Can someone kindly advise if Poipu Kai and Regency are different properties. Are they in the same area or part of the same complex? Anyone have experience with either property? The condo (either 1 or 2 bedroom) will be for my husband and me and our two kids (2 1/2 and 3 months). Thanking you in advance and we can't wait for our trip! Tanya |
Poipu Kai encompasses several complexex. Regency is in same general area (and more upscale in general.
I've posted the Poipu Kai layout make here: http://mysite.verizon.net/resokgsc/hawaii2004/id4.html click on it to enlarge. Also see http://www.wizardpub.com/kauai/krpoipukai.html Have a great vacation :) |

I rented a house on the Poipu Kai grounds this past April. Absolutely beautiful area. Something to note though. You will hear that Poipu Kai is made up of several resorts, this is true. It is much like a neighborhood within Poipu, like Wrigleyville is to Chicago. There are something like 5 or 7 resorts. Each offering their guests use of their pool/s and tennis courts. However please note I think that the Poipu Kai pool can be used by all of the resorts guests. Not ideal. But each hotel/condo complex within the resort also has a pool. You might also want to check, since this is the low season, some of the resorts offer discounts on their websites. I've seen free nights as well as up to 25% off entire stay. Not bad!

Thanks, jah043. Do you remember which area/building you stayed in? I've heard some of them can be quite dated and the Regency, while more expensive, is newer and cleaner.
