Is November Expensive

Me and my husband are thinking of taking our holiday in Florida this November. I was wondering is this an expensive time to visit, Is it peak season for Americans to visit the state?

Thanks

NOVEMBER IS A GREAT TIME TOVISIT FLORIDA..DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU WANT TO GO...THE THEME PARKS ANDHOTELS ALL COUNT IT AS THE OFF SEASON, SO RATES ARE VERY LOW...IF YOURE NOT A TRIPLE A MEMBER IT MIGHT BE WORTH IT TO JOIN...SAVE EVEN MORE...DISNEY WORLD IS ESPECIALLY GREAT, AS THEYRE STARTING TO PREPARE FOR CHRISTMAS!

we went last December- first week- to St. Pete's Beach- no crowds, beautiful weather- high 70's/low 80's- no rain. I thought the gulf was a little cool but my husband jumped right it (the pool was warm enough for me).

I just want to second the above poster's remarks. The rates will never be any lower, or the crowds thinner, than in November. A good time to vacation in Florida!

Thursday the 23rd of November is the American Thanksgiving. This can be a really crazy time at the theme parks in Florida. Other than that long weekend the waitresses say they nearly starve in November from lack of customers and tips.

Have fun!

Dear lori
Thanks for your message. I was wondering is Veterans Day a long weekend and a busy time.

Also is it true that in America waitresses earn very low wages and heavily rely on the tips they get?

nic- Veterans' Day is not a day off for most companies so if there is any effect it will be minimal. Yes, waiters/waitresses make below minimum wage (there is a different minimum for servers). The reason for this difference is the government expects their wages to be supplemented by tips. The average tip is 15%, there is no other gratuity added to the bill. You determine how much to leave.

The Florida pnahandle beaches are beautiful that time of year and most accomodations drop to Fall rates. Good time to get a deal, except possibly at Thanksgiving.

We have vacationed on Sanibal Island over 25 years, always in November, to benefit from lower rates. Only one year we had cooler temps for most of 2 weeks. Usually it is swimwear weather, in 80 and often to near 90. Great time to go, but you have to go to "lower" Florida, at least south of Tampa, etc.
Enjoy !

I agree with prior posters. Also if you are interested in visiting Orlando / Disney World check out Deb Wills unofficial guide site at www.wdwig.com We are going to Orlando in a few weeks and will go to Discovery Cove, you can get details on www.discoverycove.com it is a new park & unique in that you must make reservations. A good trip report is at www.themeparks.com Have fun!!

I am planning a vacation to Ft. Lauderdale and I am staying at a small moted at Lauderdale By the Sea. Many hotels have lower rates $59 to 79 per night, high season begins mid-December to mid-April.
