Is northern CA getting slammed by storms like southern CA?

Looks like southern CA is really getting hit. Is northern CA getting it as bad?

I'm in the Central Valley and it has been horrible the past week. We were without power for almost 24 hrs. on Fri. night. No heat, water, etc.

It looks like it's going to clear up for us on Wed. Then we're off to the mountains to enjoy the great powder for snowboarding! I've been riding my bike against 30 mph winds. Lots of trees down everywhere and power outages galore!

We have two wood stoves and LOTS of candles to help us through it. Winter is NOT my favorite time of year! ***kim*** ((c))

Ever heard of the Weather Channel?????

I live in the East Bay. I swear my house is over a banana belt. We got some wind and rain but nothing like I thought we would get!

No, intrepid, I have never heard of the weather channel. I don't get out much, but thanks for the helpful input.

The heaviest rains here seem to be in the Santa Cruz area. There have been storms since late last week with record breaking snow in Lake Tahoe. The immediate Bay Area seems to be doing ok save some minor flooding in Marin.
The landslide today was in So. California.
When is your trip to Gualala?

Southern section of the Sacramento Valley has had much less storms than most of CA. Today we actually had blue sky and sunshine after a spring type shower.

We got a little bit of a break
yesterday-even saw the sun after
nearly 2 weeks withhout!
The rain has commenced again and it's been pouring since 4:30 PST-
oh goodie...
About the Weather Channel: They are not
always accurate for us here in
Sonoma County.
I have observed blue skies out my window and they
tell me it's raining at the moment
and I have experienced the opposite-
we often get cells of rain that
Santa Rosa or Napa won't-and vice versa.
SO, orangetravelcat, I think it wise that you asked.

I live in reno nv. and we have not had this much snow since 1912 it's unbelievable. More snow predicted for tonight my arms are sore from shoveling sooooo much snow:)
OH by the way peoples overhangs on thier decks have been collapsing so another reason my arms are sore from digging that out:) we go to maui 7 weeks from wednesday yipeeeee!!!

My partner's brother and wife at Northstar (Lake Tahoe) have dug the snow away from their windows so they can see out. It was higher than all the window tops, even upstairs because it was 6 feet thick on their decks up there.

We are going to the Sea Ranch Lodge on March 1st. We were there years ago and loved it, so we are really looking forward to going back for a few days.

Just want to say hello, happy to have nothing to report. Live and work in downtown San Francisco, not even a power outage. What a dull life!

orangetravelcat, SeaRanch Lodge, lucky you! Such a beautiful area. Enjoy every moment! ((*))

My wife and I were at Lake Tahoe (Zephyr Cove, NV) from 12/26 - 1/2/05 and while were were there Heavenly Valley got over 10 feet of snow. Our house at lake level ended up with 3 - 4 feet before we left. Amazingly the roads were not that bad... the crews did a pretty good job of keeping up and while the roads were snow covered we could get around without too much trouble in our rented 4wd SUV. Driving out to San Francisco on Jan 2nd was pretty much of a nightmare though. Despite a slight break in the weather it still took us about 8 hours... normally it would be about 4 or so.
