Is it worth the savings to fly into LAX if I am going to SF?

It is very diappointing that Fodors cannot figure out how to block people who post under numerous names in order to push people to visit "beautiful" San Jose.
I belong to other news groups board where they have no trouble identifying these multi-posters and banning them from the board.
I live in Alameda, work in SF, and frequently go over with visitors. I can see the skyline walking from my house about 5-minutes.
San Francisco is a beautiful city. I spent two years working in the South Bay and declined a relocation package because I did not want to live in the "burbs" so far away from water.
Please don't waste time on these posters. Anyone who would encourage visitors from the East or foreign countries to stop in San Jose should be suspect. San Jose is nice if you need to be here for a convention......stick to the coastal towns and cities and you will be fine.

Geez, all you have to do is click on everyone's screen names and see that everyone except Captain San Jose (Treck, Guarto, et al) has long posting histories. When Mr. Union "Sqaure" only has a handful of posts all around the same time and Tthe rest of us are established posters, it's not hard to see who the multiple-named maniac is.
Also, he hates gays, which is stupid.
And my favorite post ever of his was where he tried to call himself a San Francisco native but it came out San Francisco "naive". That's rad.

We know who Captain San Jose is because he keeps linking to that SAME hoary old SF story about the Union "Sqaure" homeless problem...I don't even have to go look at it, I know what story it's going to be.
FIGURE IT OUT, FODORS.

I see Fodors managed to delete one of "Lake's" posts, then he/she re-posted it VERBATIM!! How lazy can you get? Then his/her alter-ego "Guarto" posted the same newspaper article he/she posts about the problems in Union "Sqaure" (sic)-- such as they are. I guess he/she keeps a store of these posts and just copies and pastes them every time there's a San Francisco-related post. Kinda obsessed, I'd say.... Maybe a bit unbalanced?

If you plan to spend most of your time in LA, I agree with wantsomesun that going WAY out of your way to SF from there is not worth it at all. If anything, as wantsomesun already pointed out, the weather in SF will be downright cold, rainy, and foggy.
My advice would be to fly into LA and enjoy the sunny Southern California weather. Spend some time in LA, San Diego, and take a few days to drive up the coast highway 1 as far north as Big Sur or Monterey at the most and spend a couple of days there. The most beautiful scenery along the coast will be along highway 1 from Big Sur to Monterey. If you did not want to drive back, then I would recommend flying out of San Jose back to LA on Southwest after spending a day or two there as well.
