I'm kinda sorta used to it by now. Time to move on? ((b))

brookwood Oct 25th, 2004 06:15 PM

Move on? Just when the fun is really starting. Tis a dull season now, and this one and the dog tidbit livened up the proceedings. I am surprised that Fodors has not dethreaded this one so it would sink like a rock.

Surely we can do better than pond scum green.

Perhaps we should start a cat fight series. A stray cat came in our backdoor while it was open and our MomCat jumped his butt. My wife heard MomCat's business yowl and hurried to see what it was all about. An alien in her own bailiwick was more than MomCat was going to endure, and the fur was getting ready to fly.

My wife did what any experienced RN would do. She calmly grabbed a broom and swept the combatants outside.
Then she went outside and shooed the interloper on his way. MomCat resumed a cat nap a few minutes later with one eye open.

Momma don't 'low no alien cats round here!

I think Fodors is trying to re-explain the war in Iraq while being politically correct, strong at home, an keeping Mountain Dew on topic while ignoring it at the same time. If you do not live in a battle ground state forget it because you do not count.

seniormsuedu Oct 25th, 2004 07:05 PM

To the person who can't read the small print: click on "view" at top of your screen, click on "text size" and change to any size print you prefer.

I think the new green is perky. Who on earth cares? Fodors is free and fun and so informative. Calm down everyone.

LoveItaly Oct 25th, 2004 07:43 PM

Now the "green" on my screen is sort of a peagreen soup color, actually worse than before. And there is more of the garble than before. Have aliens struck Fodors??? Goes from bad to worse.

TripleSecDelay Oct 25th, 2004 10:36 PM

No, seniormsuedu, you're not following the conversation. The text adjacent to the boxed list of states is compressed, or the kerning is set too tightly.

Just for the record, the color I'm seeing is the same as a tennis ball.

paula1470 Oct 25th, 2004 11:36 PM

Glad you started this second thread since I didn't get to comment on the first one. I will agree with Triplesecdelay, on my computer a tennis ball color is a good description. Also garbled letters. Anyway, very ugly and very distracting!!

mrwunrfl Oct 26th, 2004 12:56 AM

I was going to say that I liked the flourescent green until somebody called it perky. It's the grey-brown bar below it that I don't like. Don't know why the free falling person has a red face.

Would like to point out that when the last color/logo scheme (whatever that was) appeared it was also met with ((N)) ((N))

rb_travelerxATyahoo Oct 26th, 2004 04:26 AM

I agree with Budman: "time to move on"

Perhaps some "would be" web designers could get a job with Fodors or start a new website?

GoTravel Oct 26th, 2004 05:41 AM

Patrick, my screen resolution is on the same setting 1024x768 and I have no problems reading the site.

Wouldn't it be nice if Danny would show up and explain?

Keith Oct 26th, 2004 09:25 AM

The code for the color at the top is #e1ff85 which (as we are seeing) is not a Browser-Safe Color. It doesn't look the same on different computers.

It may look great on the computer of the person that approved the design.

Keith - maybe you and I are the only two people here that understand what you wrote. Don't think you'll find many who understand code of any type here understand. My first clue was when somebody once posted, asking about eunuchs with open sores - and you know they overheard somebody talking during lunch about UNIX and open source.

TripleSecDelay Oct 27th, 2004 06:05 AM

It's fixed!
The text that was compressed - next to the box of states - is now legible. Good job, guys.

OO Oct 27th, 2004 06:11 AM

It's not legible for me!

paula1470 Oct 27th, 2004 07:29 AM

Or me....

LoveItaly Oct 27th, 2004 09:26 AM

I can read it now. This is strange, some can and some can't. But I am not a "brain surgeon" when it comes to computers.

saharabee Oct 27th, 2004 10:59 AM

Fixed here too - but yikes! Those horrible pop-ups or roll-outs or whatever you want to call them are back again! They are way worse than the pea soup and soaring man!

Meesthare Oct 27th, 2004 11:26 AM

Wow, isn't this interesting? Up until this afternoon I could read that garbled text on both my computer at home and the one at work. But now, it's garbled. Amazing, this technology.

LoveItaly Oct 27th, 2004 12:14 PM

I think Fodors is playing mind games with all of. LOL.

One day garbled, next day readable, next day garled? Revenge is sweet!

seetheworld Oct 27th, 2004 12:31 PM

.....still ugly......still garbled!

I give up!
