is healdsburg to far from auberge?
I am planing to stay in Healdesburg for 3 nights at the la mers hotel, but have dinner reservation at the auberge at 6 p.m for one of my nights.....is it to far away to drive just for dinner and come back?, or should I stay at yountsville? maybe at the villagio inn and spa? Thanks for any advice!! Maru |
Too far IMHO.
Will everyone in your party be drinking? If you have a designated driver it may not be bad (gas prices?) but the Yountville stay is a good Plan B. |
The Hotel Le Mars is gorgeous, why not dine at Cyrus right at the hotel? It's one of the finest restaurants in the wine country,we just had our second amazing meal there this past March. :)
If you decide on the Villagio, it's a wonderful place to stay and their new spa is now finished. Have fun! ***kim*** ((f)) |
I would not drive over for dinner, but go for lunch.
One of the greatest lunches and the view is spectacular. |
Cyrus is far better than the restaurant at Auberge De Soleil.

I agree Andrew, what did you have there that you loved so much? We very much enjoyed the Champagne and Cavair at Cyrus this last visit, I also loved the Potato Gnocchi with Escargot and the Veal Loin and Sweetbreads, so many nice touches with the service at Cyrus, also! ***kim*** ((#))

You could get a car and driver to take you to Auberge and back. Its probably about an hour each way. The problem is the drinking and driving. I think going there for lunch is a good suggestion.

Kim,
We were at Cyrus last New Year's eve for dinner. They only had a tasting menu that evening. |
What a wonderful place to spend NYE, we were at the Elderberry House in Oakhurst for dinner which was wonderful! ***kim*** ((f))
