Is Dooky Chase up to par?
I have read several posts saying Dooky Chase Restaurant is a "must." My husband had a horrible meal there 5 years ago. Was that just a fluke? I'd like to try it again if it is something special. Any other favorites would be appreciated!

I guess if we knew about the Dooky Chase we would know where it is, but want to clue in the rest of us?

We love Leah Chase and you can still get good food at Dooky Chhase....but I'd rather see you go to Ugelisch's....fried green tomatoes with shrimp remoulade, fried grits with creamed shrimp, oyster brie soup....WOW! Just be there BEFORE 11:30am (open Monday-Friday) and bring cash...no credit cards!
Rob
[email protected]

Personally, I would have a difficult time eating at a restaurant which includes "dooky" in its title, no matter where it is located. Hope the special isn't meat loaf.

if you're still wondering... it's in new orleans...

I had a meal at the restaurant a few years, and the meal was terrible. There was a banquet in the next room, and as the guests exited through the restaurant they spoke very loudly, and weren't asked by the staff to quiet down. The food was sub-par. I had chicken that arrived cold, and my salad had little live bugs on it. I definitely wouldn't recommend it. Since my last visit I've had friends tell me that the place hasn't improved.
