Is Armstrong Redwoods worth the drive or will Muir Woods do?

Hello,

My husband and I would like to incorporate a visit to Muir Woods or Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve during our time in Napa Valley. It is definitely more convenient for us to stop in Muir Woods en route to Napa but would we have a better experience if we drove the extra distance to Armstrong instead? Any feedback on the differences between the two parks would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Since you're going to Napa, I would just go to Muir Woods. If you consider Sonoma County instead (my preference) you could stay in Healdsburg and then I'd say go to Armstrong Redwoods.

We had the same dilemma last year and ultimately did not have time for Armstrong. Having never been to a redwood forest before, we absolutely LOVED

Sorry about that post.

We LOVED Muir Woods. It is so special, beautiful, awesome and peaceful!
