Is 2 hours enough time to see the MLK Jr. National Historic Site?
Would it be possible to see most of the MLK Jr. National Historic Site within a 2-hour period? It's been suggested to spend the day there, but we are on a tight schedule and plan to go to 2 other tourist sites - and hopefully get lunch at Fogo de Chao - all within the 9-to-5 timeframe. Thanks in advance!

Oops, I forgot to add that this is in Atlanta.

We were there in December of 2000. Very moving. The interpetive area at the Visitor Center is very well done with lots of multi-media and displays. I see if they are having some other type of program when you visit. Check the their website (link to it through www.nps.gov) to see if they will have programs. I think a full day is too much...but anywhere from a half-day to your 2 hours would be suff. What are your other two sites? That might help me.

Sheryl, it is a wonderful site but does not require a ful day - unless as suggested there is a program or workshop - I did was a fellow at the Center for Change in Atlanta (this was several years ago) and during the summer there were various programs, conferencesetc. on the topics of Nonviolence but that is a side track to the actual historic site - enjoy

Two hours will work just fine; you can tour the visitor's center, go over to Ebenezer Baptist Church (which I found the most moving), and walk down to MLK's childhood home. Look at the nps.gov site for more information.

Two hours is not enough time to eat lunch at Fogo de Chao.
