Irish Pub Question for Boston

I will be in Boston in mid-Oct for 5 nights..... We will be staying at the Copley Square Hotel....could any of you Boston experts recommend a Pub with Authentic Irish Music ?? We have never been to Boston and are really looking forward to it !!

My info is REALLY old. There are 3 that I can remember The Black Rose, The Claddagh, and the Purple Shamrock. The Purple Shamrock was probably the rowdiest- geared to college students. Hopefully someone with more recent experience will chime in.

Kitty O'Shea's at 131 State Street (near Faneuil Hall Marketplace) has live Irish music every Sunday evening starting at 8:00 p.m. This is definitely a cab ride from your hotel. Approximately 15 minute ride.

Solas is an Irish pub located at 710 Boylston Street (bottom floor of the Lenox Hotel). This is right down the street from where you are staying. Not sure if they have live music. I have been there once - great atmosphere.

Have a fun trip!

Hi dannyyoung, there is an Irish band called Celtic Clan. Here is their website. Check out the calendar for October.

They will be playing at the Black Rose, 160 State Street and Kinsale, 2 Center Plaza (Cambridge Street)

The Green Briar in Brighton Center also has live music.

If you head to the Faneuil Hall area, it's only 4 stops on the T from your hotel. Copley stop to Government Center.

Also check the Burran in Davis Square Somervill.

In fact, pick up a copy of the Phoenix from a box on the street. There are lots of street papers, but the Phoenix has the absolute best listings of who and what is playing where.

The T is very easy to use from where you are.
