Interval International timeshares in Key West
We have opportunity to stay in Key West for Christmas this year at an I.I. timeshare condo. Anyone have any info on any of their condos and wondering what I can expect weather-wise during Christmas? Is it considered a peak time for vacationers? Thanks.

Just got back from the Hyatt Beach House and loved it - quiet location, clean, beautiful condos. Hyatt Windward Point is brand new, gorgeous units, but ON the road, next to the airport. Hyatt Sunset is IN Key West proper, location too crazy and busy for me, but it depends on what you want. Didn't tour the other II properties. Was there with 3 kids and the Beach House was a perfect environment for us. Christmas IS high season. Wather should be sunny, but not hot, expect low 70's. Check out TUG2.net for alot of timeshare info and resort reviews.

Which I I timeshare would you be staying at. I believe there's a couple of them there. Christmas is a beautiful time - and is probably a peak season as it is christmas. Otherwise, Jan - Feb - Marc are peak.
II's are known to be more upscale than RCI so you should have a nice condo. You can probably research the property at II's internet site. |
Actually go to Intervalworld.com and then click into Resorts - you'll find Key wEst and your resort listed and pictures of said condos, etc.

Thank you for info re. Hyatt Beach House. We would prefer not to have a car so I'm a little concerned about the location. I'm kind of looking at Galleon or Banyon resorts - not sure if I can get either of them for Xmas week. Any preferences of these two-they both seem well located. We will have a 13 yr. old daughter with us.

I'd go with Galleon. Banyan has a reputation as not being very kid friendly from what I've read on the TUG boards. Drove by Banyan - it is right on the road and has a B&B flavor. Both are very difficult to trade into, especially at Christmas, if your request isn't in yet, do it now. I'd opt for Hyatt Sunset Harbor - nice units right on the water intown, easier trade (from what I've heard) and great location - walk to everything, plus amenities of the Hyatt hotel.

Just an FYI but my Aunt who has a timeshare in Maui has been trying for several years to get a timeshare trade at The Galleon for Christmas. It is almost impossible to get into the Galleon.
