Internet sights for New orleans?
Can anyone suggest some sights to look at for NO. Besides the common ones they mention sin all the guides book, I want to look at some on the hidden ones that locals might have put together. We will be spending the X-mas holiday there and want to expolore the best sights and dining choices. Also having a hard time finding a place that is open on Christmas day for dinner, can anyon help. Want to dine at the best and romance and holiday decor is essential.
Thanks

Unless things have changed dramatically in the past few years, you'll encounter difficulty in finding restaurants open on Christmas eve and Christmas day in NO. That was our experience a few years ago. Once we discovered the situation (on the 23rd!), we walked around the Quarter until we found a couple places that would open and made reservations. Sorry, but I forget their names. (Thought I do forget their names, I do remember that both meals were excellent!)
P.S.: I don't think you'll have the luxury of finding your ideal spots (i.e., "romance and holiday decor are essential") unless you are very, very lucky.
I went to N.O. last year at Christmas and definitely wouldn't do it again. Most things are closed and the big hotels are so empty that they have minimal staff. We wandered around in the cold a lot more than we would have liked!

You can go to Louisianatravel.com and look up New Orleans. You can find restaurants, hotels, attractions, etc. You can also look at other activities from across the state, should you wish to venture out of New Orleans proper.
