International Dr Hotels
 

Will be visiting Universial & Sea World later this month & am wanting some reccommendations for a decent hotel in a decent price range near the hot restaurants on International Dr-that way we can walk to most restaurants. If we cant find one does anyone know if they have public buses that run to the main attractions & hotels? Thanks, Vicki

I, too, have questions about hotel on International Drive - anyone stayed at the Sheraton World World Resort at 10100 Int'l Dr?? How far is it from WDW?

I am not that fond of the International Drive hotel strip, but have you at all looked into the Lake Buena Vista area? Right outside the Walt Disney World Village hotels(Hilton, Grosvenor REsort, Doubletree) is a plaza called the crossroads centre and this whole area is called Lake Buena Vista. The Unofficial Guide to Disney has a whole rating system on a lot of these properties and I have not seen them all but the Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista would give you a suite including full breakfast and cocktails, snacks at the dinner hour. Rating here is 86%. Also Summerfield Suites in LBV gets an 82%. There is a Country Inn and Suites nearby and they are usually reasonable. This area has easy access to the world world of Disney.

Check out the Orlando Sentinel newspaper website. The Lynx buses (I think that is the city bus service) run around Orlando, but I am not sure where you could check schedules, etc. - Orlando Sentinel may have more info. It also has restaurant reviews, info on other attractions, etc. You can also inquire if hotels have shuttle service to attractions, many do offer some type of shuttle to major parks.

Hello. We frequently travel to Florida from England. <BR>We have stayed in 3 hotels on International Drive and would recommend all of them. <BR>They are the Holiday Inn International, Clarion Plaza and Omni Rosen. The Omni is our favourite we stay there most of the time on our vacation. Both the Clarion and Omni are close to Sea World and Unviversal, they are also very near to the Pointe Orlando shopping/restaurant complex. <BR>Holiday Inn is located in a much busier part of International Drive but is still a good alternative. <BR>All hotels in the International Drive are about a 20 minute drive from Disney, including Sheraton World.
