Interesting Breakfast Places by Monteleone?

Staying in May for 4 nights - and trying to find different places to eat every meal. Any favorite spots close to the Hotel Monteleone? For lunch & dinner too! We're eating the first night at Louise's to celebrate a birthday of one of our travelmates. And having brunch (and 25 cent martinis) one day at Commander's Palace. Any other suggestions coveted!

Ok, I see this bombed out, so am topping in for some new eyes (I hope)

Oh, by the way, it's not Louise's - it's Irene's! This is our splurge...

Would love to hear from anyone. My dh's knee is giving him problems, so we may have to curtail our walking.

Johnny's po boys are great and just around the corner.
Also the muffalota at the Napoleon House is very yummy paired with a pimm's cup of course!
Cafe Adelaide and the Swizzle Stick bar are great for dinner- this is inside the Lowes Hotel, an easy walk.
of course Cafe du Monde for beignets and we had the best brunch at Brennan's also right down the street!

Thanks for the reply and the good suggestions. I've complied a rough itinerary and will post it in a day or two. - and also will report back with a Trip Review since this board is not very active for New Orleans. Maybe that will help someone else. I have found more help on TA for those who have questions. You can email me for the links.

stormy - I have incorporated nearly every one of your suggestions after reading about them. What a great help!

A little tip. Adelaide for breakfast the first time we went 2 weeks ago was first rate! Fresh OJ, great pain perdu, beautiful buttermilk biscuits and perfect eggs with rich coffee. Second visit, we got talked into the buffet. Everything lost its "freshly prepared" edge and it was just average. Go for sure, but order from the menu.

Cafe Beignet is right down the street & the Royal Tea Room is not bad either.

Another vote for breakfast at Adelaide's. I stay at the Loews when I go to New Orleans, and have had breakfast there many times. It is always excellent. I've also had lunch there, and it too was great. I've never eaten dinner there.

I also liked Cafe Beignet for a quick easy breakfast. If you decide to another upscale dinner, Stella was amazing.
