I come from Amish roots several generations back, and lived for a number of years in Elkhart county, Indiana, where you can really see Amish life lived day-to-day. It is not the "touristy" version that you will experience in Lancaster co. PA. Towns to visit in North Central Indiana include Goshen, Middlebury, Nappanee. There you can observe the Amish life.
