inspire me after landing in Miami

Hi got one week to fill after flying into Miami. Anyone got any ideas on best interesting places to visit. We did look at Sarasota or maybe Pompano. We are active 60 year olds.
Thanks

South Beach sparkles with its people watching, amazing beach, bistros, bars, and shopping... plenty to see and an energy not found everywhere in "retirement state"... well worth two or three nights...

Key West is worth a look, especially if you have never been... nothing like a sunset at Mallory Square, charged by the crowds, with an energy that still mixes party with a fun island vibe...

Have fun...

Everglades

Read a Florida novel by Elmore Leonard. "Maximum Bob" is a great start. Find the kind of places he describes. For an earlier era, John D McDonald 's Travis McGee novels are great. And on and on.

Better yet, Nature Girl or Skinny Dip by Carl Hiassen.

How about going down into the Keys?
