Inns in Chicago
If I don't get a hotel rate I want in Chicago in October (3 nights), I'm considering a couple of inns, both of which look gorgeous and get great reviews. They are Flemish House of Chicago and Villa d'Citta and here are the websites:
www.innchicago.com http://www.villadcitta.com/ Do any of you have experience in either of these places? Mostly I want to know if they're within walking distance of tourist attractions and are the neighbourhoods safe to walk in at night if, for example, we wanted to walk home after an evening out. I don't know if either has availability but I'm going to call tomorrow. |
Flemish House is in the beautiful upscale Gold Coast neighborhood. Walk out to Lakeshore Dr and hop on a bus which leads to Michigan Avenue. and south to museum campus. Lovely area, perfect.
HOwever, I think it would be more expensive than a hotel in Streeterville, east of Michigan Ave.,Nortwestern campus,Navy Pier, etc. |
You might also consider the Hawthorn Terrace. It is a Best Western property which is in a very nice 'inn' in a good neighborhood.

I've not stayed in these hotels or checked tripadvisor.com, but the Cass Hotel (Holiday Inn Express) and the Inn at Michigan Avenue are both very nicely-located for tourists. Could be an idea.

Thanks, CG. I'll look at both of them.
