Inn or B&B ... Ogunquit, Kennebunks or York
 

hi all,
We'll be travelling up to the Southern Coast of Maine in a couple of weeks. Am hoping I can find availability for myself, my husband and our two small children.

We don't need beachfront (as we live in a beach town), but would rather have walking access to the town.

We'd like to stay in the nicest place that will take us (realizing that the really nice places won't since we are with the kids). Am hoping for a nice Inn that happens to have a little seperate cottage on the edge of the property. Preferably with a swimming pool.

Any ideas for us... Kennebunk or Ogunquit would be the first choices since there are lots of little shops and nice towns, but we're open to other places as well.

I looked into a house/cottage rental but struck out since we only want to stay two or three days.

We're travelling up from Massachusetts and don't want to be in the car for too long... don't want to drive as far as Camden for instance.

at least once a season. Great location, views and sometimes has vacancy throughout the season. Not a bed and breakfast type place.....better in my mind.

try the bufflehead cove inn, in kennebunkport.

thank you all... I will look into those places. I had already found the bufflehead cove and thought it was perfect as they have a seperate cottage on their property (don't want to feel like we'd be bothering people if the kids are noisy). BUT, in the policies, it said that the kids can't stay in the cottage. They do have an in-town house for rent... looks like you need to take it for a week though. I will give them a call.

okay. I am all set. I booked through Bufflehead Cove. a Village House rental seperate from their property. Perfect for us... 3 bedrooms, one king, one double, one twin. washer dryer, cable tv, etc. walk into town. only $210 per night and we could take it for just 2 nights.
