Info on Hotel Carmel-Santa Monica
 

My girlfriend and I will be spending one nite in Santa Monica on a trip down the California Coast. Looking for a place that won't cost a lot but is close to everything as we will only be there for a day. <BR> <BR>Got some info on the Hotel Carmel in SM. One block from beach, 1/2 block from 3rd street Promenade. Anyone ever stay here??? Any comments or info?? <BR> <BR>Thanks again <BR> <BR>Jim

If nothing else, the location sounds great. Lots of good restaurants and shops along the promenade.

Location is super. Don't know the hotel personally, but my old book about L.A. says "a well-kept economy hotel" Hope that helps a bit. Ask someone if the bar with magicians still exists. It was great fun.

I haven't stayed there, but I can tell you it has a very good location and looks decent from the outside, so that's something (some really bad places I would not even care what the inside looked like).
