Indoor shopping mall NYC

Somewhere I read that there was an indoor mall somewhere in mid town where is it and are the stores high end or affordable?

There are no real malls in NYC. There are a couple of places with fairly small groups of stores indoors.

There is a fairly downscale place (Manhattan Mall) with a bunch of the mall basics across the street from Macy's. There are two upscale places - one the Trump Tower (57th and Fifth) and the other in the Time Warner center near Columbus Circle. For the latter two bring your platinum card at least.

But - overall - Manhattan is not a mall type of place - and most of the best shopping - of any type - is at individual stores.

If you let us know what types of things you are interested in people can advise.

Just in case we had a day that it poured out. Casual clothes .Time warner is a nice building love the Whole foods store and the Manhattan Mall sounds fine. We'll go to museums too. Thanks for the info.

As stated, Manhattan Mall has basic affordable indoor mall stores, but it does not have nearly the amount of stores as your typical suburban malls do. So, it can be done in a very short amount of time.

You could probably spend a good deal of time in Macy's on a rainy day, since it is so large. It, on the other hand, is not like your typical suburban Macy's in most cities and can be fun to shop around in.

Herald Square (34th St and 6th Ave) has alot of shops from Manhattan Mall to Herald Center (across the St) where you will find Daffys and then across the street is Macys'. On 34th St is a large Old Navy and H&M, Ann Taylor, Express, Banana Republic, several shoe stores.

For casual tee shirts, jeans and trendier inexpensive clothing try Conway, also across the street from Macys at 35th and Broadway. I get shorts and tee shirty thing there every summer.

Have a great time while you are here, hopefully the weather will start to co-perate. I can't remember a colder spring, and it's almost June!!
