Indina Shores Beach Florida and Sea Lice
 

Hi. I am going to Indian Shores Florida in July. I was just wondering if anyone knows if this beach is bad for sea lice or seabathers eruption? We are taking four kids and this really concern's me. Thanks for any information.

I've been swimming and scuba diving in the Gulf for 30+ years, from Pensacola to Key West (with much time spent on Treasure Island), and I've never experienced or seen "sea lice or seabathers eruption."

I live about 20 minutes south of Indian Rocks Beach, on another beach. I too have yet to experience sea lice, and I've never heard of "seabathers eruption" - sounds like a tropical drink to me!

You should probably be asking about Red Tide instead...it is HERE now. Yuck.

I've been swimming in the Atlantic for 50 years and at North Carolina beaches for the past ten years. These past few weeks I've learned from personal experience what "seabather's eruption" is. I am hoping that since the peak months end in early July, this will solve the problem. I haven't heard anyone else complain but then I haven't mentioned it to anyone. Up until yesterday, I thought it was my bathing suit! Then I got a new one and went in the ocean and within minutes was itching. Started googling and here I am.

Evidently some people are more susceptible than others. I hope your beach is free of this larvae and/or that you do not have the reactions I'm having.
