Thanks -Amy |
Type in "Indianapolis" in the text search box and you will come up with a fair bit on the city. The post entitled "What to do in Indianapolis and surrounding area" has a fair bit of information in it.
Two good things to do with children, right off the bat: the zoo (downtown) and the Children's Museum (30th and Illinois). Indianapolis is my city; you'll enjoy your weekend here! |
The children's Museum in Indy is wonderful.

Ride the elevator to the top of the Soldiers & Sailors Monument in the middle of Monument Circle and walk down.
See an event at Conseco Fieldhouse and enjoy a retro fieldhouse venue. See the Indians play baseball at beautiful Victory Field. See the Indy 500 museum in Speedway. If it's a pretty day walk the canal and rent a paddle boat for a ride. Hey dln, I didn't realize we're practically neighbors. Tho' I live in the scenic "southside" of Indianapolis: Brown County. :-) |
Hey indytravel! Our daughter is now at Gnaw Bone Camp in scenic Brown County. It's beautiful country, isn't it? We live in Meridian-Kessler in Indy, with an itty-bitty yard, so we really appreciate having Brown County so close.

It is beautiful down here. I especially like the Fall.
I probably shouldn't mention this but the name Gnaw Bone is derived from the French (or so my college French teacher told me.) It is corrupted from the French city Narbonne. :"> We won't even mention how we pronounce Versailles in Indiana. :-d |
The zoo and the children's museum. That's about it. :)

Conner Prarie is very nice.
