Indian Wells

Has anyone ever been to the Indian Wells Resort and Hotel? We are going there tomorrow... I was also wondering what things we should make sure we do while in Indian Wells/Palm springs area....

I've never stayed there, but type "Palm Springs" into the search box on this board, and you will find lots of activity and restaurant info.

Apply sunscreen. 8-)and wear light, loose clothing.
I haven't stayed there either but I've been to Palm Springs.

The sunscreen part I've been told is the most important :) I looked up palm springs in the search, but I was curious about this specific resort. It looks nice, but as you know sometimes you get there and it's not what you expected. Hopefully no blackouts there! (the temp. has dropped somewhat thank goodness). My husband suprised me with this trip but when I saw what the temperature is I was like, Uh hopefully there's a nice big pool!

Geez, have you looked at the weather reports? High humidity and high temperatures. There's also a chance of rain in the am Saturday.

Indoors with the A/C and telly on sounds good to me.

www.kesq.com is a local tv station you can play their weather report on line.

I don't have any recent reports on the hotel but a few years back some of our golf group stayed there and were not impressed. Check travelocity. There is nothing in Indian Wells but hotels, housing, and golf. A small shopping center at Washington and Hwy 111. If you get up the courage to leave the room later in the day, Omri and Boni or the Falls are not far away for dinner.

Yeah, I saw the weather reports- and that cows are dying like crazy.
We are planning on going to a water Park one of the days. We intend for it to be a relaxing trip- so if we end up in the resort most of the time, then oh well I suppose!

Well, it looks like there's a nice pool.... Is it true that in Plam Springs they have mist along the sidewalks when it's really hot? We did rent a car so we should go check out the places you mentioned.

I forgot to ask- is there any over the counter medicine that helps with flying? I used to love to fly, but on my most recent flight I had a panic attack. (I have no idea why).

It sounds like you have not been to PS before. Yes a lot of the businesses that remain open have outdoor misting systems. Also nearer to you than PS is Palm Desert, which has "El Paseo" shopping area. There is a complex called "the Gardens" that has a range of restaurants including Pacifica for fish/seafood, Tommy Bahamas which often has steel drum music playing (but the food is overpriced and overrated) and Sullivan's for steaks. The parking for the Gardens is in a covered garage which counts a lot in summer! Most people go out early in the am if golfing, hang inside from lunch to dinner, and then go out at night. With the humidity it will be warmer than usual at night and in the morning.

A note---Omri & Boni is no more. The restaurant has been sold and is now "Amoré", an Italian restaurant. It is open, but I have not been to it yet.

PS Local, the new one on Washington? How sad!

Is Romitti's still in business? I just recommended that one too!
