Any ideas where 2 girlfriends should go in search of the best indian food restaurant in USA (or closely neighbors)?

A closely neighbor of the USA with terrific Indian food would be in Scarborough area in Ontario, Canada.

BTW, Mexico iirc would be a tough one.

Another Canadian spot: Vij's in Vancouver, BC. Delish!

In the US, my vote would be for Devon Street in Chicago. Dozens of authentic Indian restuarants within walking distance amid Sari shops, spice purveyers & produce stands.

I second the vote for Devon Ave in Chicago IL. There is more indian restaurants on that street than I've ever seen! I just ate last Saturday at the Viceroy of India - yummy!

Little India: Pioneer Blvd. between around 182nd and 187th, Artesia, CA (south of LA). Epicenter of the Indian expat community in the LA area, with lots of good Indian eateries in the immediate area and surrounding areas.

Actually there are some great Indian joints throughout southern California. Just come and follow your nose!

In Washington DC, the Indian restaurant you would want to go to is Rasika's.
