In search of a hotel room in VERMONT
(apologies for the duplication-- my title wasn't clear) I've clearly missed the boat and need a hotel room in Burlington, VT for a Friday (and possibly Saturday) night when we drop our daughter off for camp. The usual suspects are booked and now I'm afraid to book the airfare without a room reservation. Does anyone have any suggestions? We're flying into Burlington at around 7pm, so I don't want to drive too far that night only to have to return to Burlington early the next morning.
THANK YOU for ANY suggestions!

is this a holiday weekend that eery hotel room is booked
have you tried hotels.com?
you could stay in south burlington, colchester , shelburn, vergennes, even Middlebury if you had to - although that is less than an hour , it is still a drive -
there are so many hotels around there between the college in Middlebury and UVM in Burlington...

I am not sure which weekend you are referring to. If you find a name brand hotel in Colchester, South Burlington or Williston you will be very close to the airport. We had good luck at the Holiday Inn Express in South Burlington. Nice place, reasonable rates. Unless you are talking about the 4th of July, you should be able to find a room. If you give me more information I could make some more suggestions.

Here are my suggestions:
Hawthorne Suites, South Burlington
Doubletree, South Burlington
Sheraton, South Burlington
Fairfield Inn, Williston
Courtyard by Marriott, Williston
I have stayed at the Hawthorne Suites and its great, and my relatives have stayed at the rest and were pleased.

I was looking for a room the weekend of June 27-28. I guess there is some sort of ice skating tournament in Burlington and I can't find any rooms anywhere. I ended up changing the flight so that I only need a room in the immediate area that Sat night (the 28th).
Thanks for your tips.

mayhem:
try hotels.com, i just plugged in your date and found rooms available (Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn, etc) from 124 to 195 for price range - they also have a toll free number if you feel more comfortable doing reservations via phone -
or often I go on hotels.com, find those who have availability and then either book thru them online or telephone and see if they have a match or better rate.
