In Honolulu for a day - what should we see?
G'day all!
We (couple in our 50's) are stopping over in Honolulu for a day (enroute to Australia in July). We have both been to Honolulu before (10yrs ago) and have seen the Arizona Memorial, Polynesian Cultural Centre, Ala Moana Centre and taken the Trolley ride along with visiting some of the beautiful beaches. Just thought I would ask if there was something we "shouldn't miss" on our next visit? Cheers to all .. :) |
Iolani Palace, the Mission houses, Bishop Museum

It depends on you.
Personally, I'd near the water (I like Prince Hotel near Ala Moana, or even Ala Moana Hotel). I like to walk through Waikiki and love Ala Moana beach park for walking and swimming. Many good restaurants to be found. Culturally, Icuy's recommendations are all great. We also belong to Honolulu Academy of Arts, a wonderful museum, with a great lunch restaurant. You just must visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial.
It is a very touching memorial to those who lost their lives December 7 1941 |

laurio, the OP has already been to Pearl Harbor. S/he was looking for other must-see places for one day in Honolulu.

National Cemetery of the Pacific/Tantalus Drive
Chinatown/Aloha Tower North Shore |
USS Missouri where Japan surrendered to the US, located near the Arizona.

Without knowing exactly how much time you actually have, I would opt to rent a car and go around the island visiting Haunama Bay and the North Shore. |
I'd spend the day relaxing by the beach and pool.
