I travel tons for work, and have enough frequent flier miles to take about 18 domestic free trips. The best way to reward my wife for me being away so much is to blow my miles on long trips with her!

You've obviously read the FFlier remarks, we've been saving up for ours on a continental airlines credit card. When we have big purchases, we put them on the credit card and pay them off right away to avoid interest charges but to accrue mileage. Only downside is the annual fee for the card. Also, my husband put aside $100 a month for the last 2 years and we're spending it on hotel. We've also rolled all our change for spending money, we had almost $400 extra in money from change on our last trip.

We use our AmEx card for EVERYTHING. We ususally use the points for more expensive flights and pay for the less expensive ones. We also travel in off season for 2 reasons. We do not have children, so we can go when others can't and it just happens to be when kids are in school everything happens to be less expensive...and less crowded!
