Thanks for these comments on Maialino. We never seem to fit it in during our excursions to NYC but it's now at the top of the list.

So, we had a lovely dinner at IL Tinello.
Old school Italian, white table cloths, anti pasto and dessert carts rolled up to your table, plenty of space between the tables, quiet in a sea of noisy restaurants.

The veal scallopini was outstanding with a sauce to remember. We shared melon & prosciutto and a salad and had cheesecake for dessert. A tasty Pinot Grigio went well with dinner.

Expensive? Yes, but worth it all the way. We definitely would return.

So glad you werre pleased!!

I was just looking at the Maialino menu for an upcoming meal and noticed that the pig's head is currently listed among the antipasti. It's really small. I always get the pasta with the suckling pig, and sometimes the main course pork if someone wants to share.
