If you had five days in Europe....

I am living in Paris. I have a friend coming to visit for 10 days. We are going to spend five days in Paris, but we'd like to go somewhere else. So, if you had five days to go anywhere in Europe, where would you go?

You'll get more responses if this question is posted on the Europe forum. Personally, at this time of year, I'd pick the French Riviera or Amalfi Coast.

No offense, but this is a waste of time unless you tell us something about your friend. We don't even know if it's male or female.

The answers would be different if it's a she who is an art major in university instead of a 45 year male old jock who loves soccer.

it also depends on the period of visiting; fall ? winter ? summer ? spring ?

I would choose one area only, I mean not jumping from one place to another every day!
I would go to Scotland: Edinburgh's Castle and Isle of Sky or Shetland Islands; not more than 2 nearby locations or you will waste time for transfers !

In Ireland - The Ring of Kerry. I was moved to tears a couple of times.
