Looking for a nice, upscale place for dinner. Ocean view preferred but not necessary. Food quality is the most important factor.

We've been to Maui before and have dined at a number of restaurants on various parts of the island so are specifically looking South Maui recommendations this time.

To give you an idea of what we like/dislike - some of our favorite restaurants in West Maui are I'O, Sansei, and Roy's, and we found Mama's Fish House rather overrated.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I second the vote for Roys in Kihei. No view, other than the strip mall/parking area, but the food is great. We preferred Roys over Nick's at Kea Lani Resort.

I always love the Maui Surfside for a gorgeous setting and a nice meal (the menu always has some sort of fresh fish, and the prices are very reasonable).

Sarento's , great food, and fanatastic sunset views, and as a bonus, Joe Montana was sitting at the table next to us.

Far and away my best meal in Wailea was Nick's Fish Market. I still think about it to this day..... the food, the ambiance, and the service.
