Just thought I'd let folks know that SeaTac hotels are sold out for tonight. Lots of planes cancelled. It's a "snow day" in Seattle. I'm curious to know how much of downtown is shut down but not curious enough to waste time on the light rail lol.

Our DD is working from home instead of trying to get to her office. DH is on the east side and walked to work. It is only 3 miles and along a nice trail, so not bad. They got all the snow that the forecasters were saying was coming to the Portland area.

Happy tourist- I know, I've got some high school friends who have kids here- she posted a picture of their snow art on Facebook. I am so jealous! It looks like a blast! I would be doing the same if I was home right now. Instead I'm SeaTac 5 hours before my flight because I'm pretty sure downtown is a mess.
Luckily...I don't actually have to be anywhere urgently, this is just an effort to avoid driving over the pass lol. The amount of snow that has fallen is crazy- it would be a terrible, terrible day to be a baggage handler. I'm camped out in Anthony's watching them slog through the slush.
MMS- so Portland didn't get any? Those lucky ducks.

Well, Portland rain is nothing to sneeze at too bad you're missing the snow- I would gladly trade places with you. Well, maybe not, SeaTac is an entertaining place today.
My flight has been canceled. Noe I get to track down my luggage lol

MM--The rain we had over the weekend was insane for even here It is a bit more of what I remember from as a kid here vs the much more mild winters we have had in recent years. LOL at SEA being entertaining today Last weekend I flew back and encountered protestors at PDX, so I guess it is always something somewhere. Are you headed to WW?

Yes, my newest scheme is to take the air porter to Yakima. I am determined at this point. But first I must find out where my clean underwear is lurking. And my teddy bear from Germany. Otherwise I'd let Alaska keep my luggage at this point!
Always something somewhere indeed. Narrowly missed the Trump protests in Boston and NYC. But snow at SeaTac is a new one for me. Had a layover Chicago last night and that was the one I was worried about...then we landed in Seattle and saw snow!!

MM--LOL, I used to live in Yakima so I feel for you with your newest scheme I do NOT miss that place, or Toppenish where I have also lived. Ick!!! Thankfully I was able to get out of PDX literally before the chaos ensued last weekend. It was a mob scene and I could see it ahead, and so got out the first door I could find. Literally avoided being stuck there by probably less than a minute. At least snow would be a pleasant reason to be stuck. Hope your bag shows up soon!!! DH and DD just texted me pictures. DH had way more snow at our place than DD did. His walk looked really peaceful.

I left Seattle at 1PM on January 4. It was 46F with no snow or rain.
By the time I got to Hoodoo on the Santiam Pass it was in the single digits.
Any chance you can get to Wishram for the 2 hour train trip to Pasco? It shouldn't be too hard to get to Walla Walla from there.

It's just honestly too much of hassle, Tom. It would require my car to get to wishram. At that point I would have clear roads to WW. It's everything before that that is the pain. Alaska put me on a flight late tomorrow night. Path of least resistance...plus, they're holding my suitcase hostage so I'd have to go back to airport anyway
Same old problem...not enough transit links! I can get from here to Yakima and pasco to WW, but obnoxiously, not between Yakima and pasco!
