Ideas needed: February 18- 25
 

I would appreciate ideas from seasoned travelers. I really what to take our family on vacation the above week. I am somewhat overwhelmed by all of our choices and would like other to suggest more options! We will be traveling with a 9 year old and a 7 year old. I have about $3,000 to spend. I really want this to be a family oriented vacation. Been and done Disney. Las Vegas? Carribean? London? We live in NY so travel options are great! Please give me the benefit of your experience.

I'd avoid California in February, you could be hit with a week of nothing but rain.

We are going to Puerto Vallarta that week. We live on the west coast, so it is closer for us than you. It is a great place for families.

Palm Springs. Although last February it rained, which was an anomaly.

The Living Desert would be fun for the family. There are great hiking trails. The tram that goes up to Idylwild is worth a trip (there'll be snow up there. I believe it's 20 degrees cooler up there.) Spending a day in Joshua Tree would be great. It's gorgeous and so different from anything I've seen.

Go to Panama for a week. It is an adventure the kids will never forget and the weather will be good. It is dry season. Check all the great ideas on the SA board for Panama.
