Ideas for November travel

Three "young" senior ladies from Louisiana are looking for somewhere to spend a week in early November. We love beautiful scenery, shopping, and events. We've been to San Francisco, Maine, Boston, Atlanta, and Smokies together. We usually like to drive to different places in the same trip but aren't opposed to staying in one place is there is enough to do. Bed and breakfasts are good, but so are big city lights. We're not too picky - just love to travel together. We don't want to try to plan a trip to NYC this late even though it may be a future destination for us. Any ideas would be appreciated.

San Diego has the best November weather with plenty of beautiful scenery, shopping and events. You can drive to all of Southern California or Palm Springs.

Seattle could be gray in November, but qualifies for all your activities. You can drive to Mount Ranier, Snoqualamie Pass or ferry to Victoria.

Orlando is at low season. You can have the malls and beautiful Florida State Parks to yourself. You can drive to Cocoa or Clearwater while enjoying the lowest prices of the year at some of the best resorts.

Savannah's historic district is a popular ladies destination. Hilton Head is a short drive away for island life and Charleston's homes can be done in a day trip.

Tucson is my Arizona favorite. Great scenery, fine resorts and good restaurants. Scottsdale is a 90 minute drive for more shopping or Sedona is a ways further but worth the trip.

Finally, Las Vegas is low season til the Rodeo arrives mid November. You can have your pick of the casinos and drive to Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam for your road trip.

In my opinion, the Orlando area and north where we live - Maitland - is absolutely beautiful in November. There are state parks, swanky restaurants in Winter Park, botanical parks like Leu Gardens (www.leugardens.org),fabulous museums, antiques and just relaxing. See - www.winterpark.org . November has been our favoite month weather wise since moving here over 18 years ago!

Thanks, stumpworks73, for all of the good ideas. I'm looking into several of them right away. I forgot to mention that we have already been to Savannah and Charleston. Grandkids would not be happy with us if we went to Orlando without them. I'm leaning towards San Diego or Arizona.
