Ideas for Chicago for a group of 12
 

I've been put in charge of a group outing for a Friday night for 12 adults in Chicago in a couple of weeks.

Someone has suggested Fogo de Chao, the meat lovers paradise at 661 N. LaSalle but what could we easily combine that with for entertainment?

I thought about going to see an Improv Olympics show at 3541 N. Clark and thought about maybe combining that with Tango Sur, the Argentinian BYOB place, at 3763 N. Southport. Any other restaurant suggestions in that area?

Or we could do Second City, anyone seen the current show "Red Scare"? We could have dinner at Adobo Grill. Any other suggestions for a place that takes reservations near Second City?

I'm not sure of your price range but Fogo de Chao is a bit pricey, check out the menu and make sure you are up for it. Tango Sur is a fine place for dinner, I'd recommend it. Finally, I would recommend Adobo Grill, excellent food, there are other places around second city that are also good to eat. Bistro Margo is right down the street and a pretty good French place.

Yes, I know that Fogo is expensive, I think I've seen a price around $45 per person just for food. Personally, I can't/don't want to eat like that anymore which is why I was trying to find an alternative. And I can't think of anything interesting in the area to do afterwards, was trying to only have to park once.

Tony & Tina's wedding? Blue Man group?

Thanks for the additional suggestions, I totally forgot about Blue Man Group even though I've already been. I will keep in mind for next time. I ended up booking Comedy Sportz on Halsted and dinner at A la Turka for our group. Tango Sur did not take reservations even for a large party, both Second City shows were sold out.

You will like A la Turka. We are Chicagoans who have also been to Turkey and their food and atmosphere is most authentic. Have fun!

We went last night to A la Turka and Comedy Sportz and everyone had a great time. A la Turka is a great place to have a group dinner, in fact there were at least 3 very large groups celebrating this or that. We were there for the belly dancing at 9 pm which everyone enjoyed, people who were celebrating birthdays got a free dessert and the owner came over and gave me a bracelet (the blue one with the eyes common in Turkey) and a bottle of Turkish wine as I had made the reservation. The food was very good and no one went away hungry.

There's another great Turkish place up in Andersonville called Turkish Cuisine and Bakery, I like their food better than A la Turka but the atmosphere at A la Turka is a lot nicer. If you go with a smaller group they have the tables with the cushions on the floor, kind of a fun way to eat a meal.

A good place to take your group for lunch one day would be the Park Grille in Millennium Park. Nice atmosphere, lots of people, decent food and prices. It's right off the public ice skating rink, and directly underneath the wonderful "Bean" sculpture. It's an interesting area to explore for a couple of hours.
