Ideas for best golf vacations (reasonably priceed)?
 

My husband and I are going to take a vacation without kids in May. He's very interested in golfing, I am not. However, I will be happy to sit by a pool in warm weather and read while he golfs (or do the spa thing). Then we can meet up for dinner. <BR><BR>Anyone have ideas for great golf getaways?<BR><BR>Thanks!

A number of years ago, I did a spa vacation at the Bonaventure spa in Ft Lauderdale. I believe it still has all those facilities (including the pool) PLUS it's a big golf and tennis place. They have packages for these. I loved it! You might want to look into that.

I'd definitely look into the Palm Desert/Indian Wells/Rancho Mirage area. Tons of golf courses, designed by some of the best...and great pools/spas all together in mnay different resorts. The weather will be great too!

We've been several times to the Westin in Rancho Mirage. Lots and lots of options in Palm Springs and great weather at that time of year for pool sitting. Their spa is new.

I think this depends on what part of the country you are in. If you are on the East Coast, a reasonable vacation might be Myrtle Beach. They have tons of golf courses, very reasonably priced, and also hotels on the beach. The rest of it can be somewhat tacky (t-shirt shops, mini-golf, etc), but fun.

Reasonably priced is going to depend on where you live, of course. If you live in the east I would suggest Hilton Head Island, Myrtle Beach, or in Florida the Palm Coast area (between Jacksonville and Daytona Beach). Actually, there are hundreds of courses throughout Florida, so almost anywhere could be a great vacation in May. Our rainy season officially starts the 3rd week of May, so don't wait till Memorial Day if you decide on Florida.

Go to Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. It has become a golf destination. You can do the history, touring, shopping and spa-ing.
