Ideas for 16th Birthday New York

I'm traveling to New York for my 16th birthday in early January 2018. I've been there twice before but only small one day trips, so I've only seen a bit of Central Park and had small walks through the city. I will be there for four days. Some things I want to do are go to Central Park, go ice skating, go to Times Square, and visit Rockefeller Center. And much more of course. I'm not really expecting to shop in New York, mostly just sight see I guess. I'm a ballet dancer and I wanted to see any ballet company perform the Nutcracker, or any show. But it seems they all finish the Nutcracker December 30th, in which I won't be there. I'll be there January 1st. I don't know what companies would be performing during that week, but if you know of any, please let me know. I'm also not sure what I would like to do to celebrate on the day of my birthday. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you

Can you share the exact dates you will be in NYC? There are many dance companies that may have performances, but not every day of the week. Knowing your exact statesman help us make suggestions. Also must it be ballet? Would other dance types interest you?

Again, depending on your dates, there may still be skating in Bryant Park, aside from the usual Rockefeller Center rink and Wollman Rink in Central Park.

This is Time Out NY dance page:

As you get closer to your trip, you can see what is being staged and what appeals to you.

And yes I just want to watch a Ballet show.

Your dates are very difficult for ballet. Most of the companies will be taking a few weeks break after December 31 following their heavy holiday performance schedule, resuming at mid-month.
